Curriculum Vitae

Christian Stephan received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg. During his studies, he focused on developing structured systems for regenerative medicine, particularly for bone tissue regeneration. During his Master's degree, Christian specialized in Biomaterials and Additive Manufacturing techniques, including melt electrowriting and biofabrication for both soft and hard tissue applications.

His Master's thesis centered on incorporating mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles (MBGN) into Polycaprolactone melt electrowritten scaffolds with varying geometries and pore sizes. For his B.Sc. thesis, Christian worked on creating freestanding asymmetric bi-layer Chitosan-Gelatin films embedded with MBGN and Naringin, fabricated through Electrophoretic Deposition, aimed at regenerating jawbone tissue.

Since June 2024, Christian has been a member of the team at the Chair of Medical Materials and Implants.
