ToolFlott - BIM coupled construction machinery Tool requirements when using machine instatio-nal processes for the verification of construction progress
A Building Information Model (BIM) stands for the continuous digital maintenance of a building (structural engineering) or terrain model (civil engineering) throughout the lifecycle phases of planning, execution, management and demolition. In practice, BIM is mainly used in planning. Digital planning lacks a feedback loop to construction, which provides information about the actual progress of construction. Civil engineering is characterized by highly mechanized processes. Construction machine tools provide the central added value there. To date, there is no link between the machine operations and the BIM for production feedback and construction progress control.
The overall objective of the project is to link mechanized processes with digital planning in order to support the operator in machine operations and to determine construction progress with the help of manufacturing feedback.
The feedback of planning and execution of highly mechanized processes offers great potential to make construction site processes more transparent and to realize efficiency potentials in transient manufacturing as well as in logistics planning and management of construction machine tools.
